Plant-based Microbakery in OMV

by Stephanie Lin
A new plant-based microbakery making small batches of artisanal baked goods based out of Old Mountain View has been delighting the local community with its delicious treats. For the last decade, the owner was working a corporate desk job while nurturing her love of baking, a side hobby. Making pastries was a peaceful way to express creativity and bring little bits of happiness to friends and family.

Last summer she decided to fulfill her dream to pursue baking full-timeand opened up The Compassionate Crum out of her home kitchen. Her plant-based treats are all handmade in small batches with organic sugars and artisanal flours. The bakery recently held successful popup events at Avas and 1 Oz Coffee. Her regular menu features sticky buns, apple crumbles, chocolate chip cookies, kouign-amann, and ube biscotti, but she also bakes special items on holidays like the themed cookie decorating kits on Earth Day. World Chocolate Day featured a variety of pastries filled with chocolate.
