Area Water Restrictions June 2022

Dear Neighborhood Representative:

This email is for Neighborhood Association leaders in the City of Mountain View.  On June 28, 2022, the Mountain View City Council declared a Stage 2 water shortage emergency condition.  Several new water use restrictions are in effect, including a weekly irrigation schedule based on street address.  Included below is the weekly irrigation schedule and a list of key water use restrictions.  View the full list of water use restrictions at MountainView.gov/WaterUseRestrictions.

Weekly Irrigation Schedule:

  • Even Addresses:                Irrigation allowed Tuesdays and Fridays.
  • Odd addresses:                 Irrigation allowed Mondays and Thursdays.

Key Potable Water Use Restrictions:

  • Do not waste water from broken or defective equipment (repair within five days).
  • Do not wash paved or hard surfaces, except by bucket or for health and safety reasons.
  • Do not use potable water in decorative water features, except to sustain aquatic life.
  • Do not irrigate landscapes:
    • Between 9: 00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (except by bucket, hose, or for system repair).
    • More than 2-days per week.
    • More than 15 minutes per day (except for drip irrigation or for system repair).

Customers can view and track their water usage, find tips, and sign up for high usage alerts at WaterInsight.MountainView.gov.  Login with your utility account number and zip code.
