“Thursday Night Live” Returns in July and August

The City has announced the four dates on which Castro Street will be closed for the popular Thursday Night Live series.
Castro will be closed between Mercy and Evelyn from 5 to 9 p.m. on the nights listed below. West-bound traffic on Evelyn will be able turn right on Castro. Mercy will be open to east-west traffic.
This year there will be concerts at Castro and Dana each evening of Thursday Night Live. The dates and bands are: July 9 (Joe Sharino Band, classic party rock); July 23 (The Jesse Charles Band, a blend of musical styles from the 50s to now); Aug. 6 (Wally’s Cocktail Combo, jump swing, rockabilly, rock and roll and surf music); and Aug. 20 (The Groove Kings, clas-sic rock and blue-eyed soul). Mu-sic will begin at 6:30 and end at 8:00 each night. Exhibitors will include vendors from the Farmers’ Market, classic cars, artwork and public interest displays. Local Li-ons Club members will collect used eyeglasses each night to be donated to needy individuals.
Pets on leashes are allowed.
Bring your family and friends and enjoy an evening of celebrating downtown businesses in a pedestrian-friendly environment.
