1. Introductions and Announcements

  • Ronit announced she will be the campaign manager for Laura Macias and Ken is a volunteer for Stephanie Schaaf.
  • Erin will have a prototype of the welcome to the neighborhood baskets for the next meeting. We agreed on a budget on $100 annually.
  • OMVNA received information from Rebuilding Together, a group that offers free services to the elderly. It was agreed to post information in the newsletter.

2. Approval of Minutes

  • Minutes approved.

3. CERT and Treasurer's Report

  • Total $5173.31, OMVNA = $5008.55, CERT = $164.766.
  • CERT lost one member and gained one. There are 34 members total.
  • Aaron would like to decrease his role as lead. Carolyn Lutticken has volunteered to coordinate CERT training.

4. Nominating Committee

  • Bruce Karney gave a report. Kim Koffer has volunteered to serve as secretary, Nikol Jackson as Newsletter editor, Jamil Sheikh as Member at Large, Velva as Chair, Ronit as Webmaster. All other positions to stand.

5. October General Meeting

  • We need a letter to invite candidates to debate with solicitation to advertise in newsletter. Ronit to handle this. The meeting will take place Wed, Oct 20th at 7:30. The proposed October 7th issue of the newsletter will include candidate statements and ads.
  • Motion moved by Velva to add additional election special newsletter issue. If possible it will include school board candidates also. Issue proposed for Oct 7st. We agreed to move on this at the Sept meeting.

6. Historic Preservation Update

  • Julie Lovins gave us an update.
  • The historic preservation proposal seems to have been dropped in preference for neighborhood design overlays (NDO).
  • It was agreed that OMVNA wanted more incentives and support for preservation. Ronit will represent OMVNA at the next meeting on Aug 17th. An announcement will be sent to OMVNAtalk to solicit neighborhood participation and support.

7. Nonprofit Status

  • Ronit questioned whether we need to disclose past years income and it was agreed we need to disclose only 2004 financial records since the incorporation.

Meeting adjourned at 8:45 pm.
