To all Old Mountain View residents and property owners,

The Old Mountain View Neighborhood Association (OMVNA) will hold its third regular steering committee meeting of 2023 on Monday, July 31, 2023.

All Old Mountain View residents and property owners are invited to attend.

From 7:00-7:30PM, we will have a presentation and Q&A from John Frolli, historic architect from Strata Design Studio in San Jose. He will presenting his preliminary plans for an office addition to the rear of the Jurian building, 194-198 Castro Street. This building is one of eight proposed downtown commercial buildings for qualification on the National Register of Historic Places.

The regular meeting will begin at 7:30PM. In addition to our recurring items, the leadership team will discuss the following:

  1. When to schedule an upcoming presentation from John Lang, Mountain View Economic Vitality Manager. The council will be discussing the subject of economic vitality on September 26. John will be giving us an update on the post-COVID challenges facing our downtown.
  2. A proposed amendment to the OMVNA bylaws to allow subcommittee chairs to vote on items at the regular steering committee meetings. This amendment would be announced in the newsletter and voted on at the annual meeting near the end of the year.
  3. Staffing for the upcoming OMVNA ice cream social on Saturday, August 26, 1-3PM in Mercy Bush Park. The event will be hosted by the Eventors, OMVNA’s social committee, but others, including members of the leadership team, are welcome to volunteer to help.
