From the Candidates: Tracy Gordon

My name is Tracy Gordon, and I’ve lived in Mountain View for ten years. I met my husband, a director of product management, in downtown Mountain View and together we made the decision to stay here and raise our family. I am a stayathome mother to beautiful, twin 3yearold boys and work parttime in the heart of Mountain View.

Working and raising children in the heart of Mountain View has deepened my commitment to this community. As I have seen issues and talked to other concerned residents, I have decided that it is important to take an active role in shaping the future. This is why I am running for City Council. I believe that my perspective will bring new ideas and wise decisionmaking skills to the City Council.

We need to continue to make Mountain View an affordable place for residents of many walks of life to live and learn, and to improve the community assets that we already enjoy.   We need to manage our growth with the right balance between commercial and residential development to increase the Bay Area’s awareness of Mountain View attracting more visitors to support our business community and tax base.

I will work with:

The Chamber of Commerce to increase economic vitality in Downtown, attracting businesses that reflect our diverse community

Parks and Recreation, ensuring that our children can play in safe and clean environments

City administration on a plan for affordable housing for middle class families, single professionals, and students.

Honesty, Integrity and Hard Work are the convictions driving my decisions.  I want to be the voice of the people because I am one of the people. I want you to take pride in choosing me to be your voice.
